Everything you need to know for your upcoming video shoot at an event or in our studio
Canfield – Harrison Retreat : Zoom Tech Advice
If you want the best possible setup for Zoom
interviews, below is a list of lights, cameras, and microphones that we use in
our office studio and at home. They are affordable and offer a significant
improvement in home Zoom setups.
I have listed Amazon.com links to purchase, but you can also find these and similar items from Adorama.com and BHPhotoVideo.com
If you do purchase any of these and would like assistance
with setup, please contact me. I would also suggest we have another Zoom
meeting to test it, and to make sure it’s working properly.
LIGHTING
Lighting should always be facing you, not behind you. The lights below
offer soft, diffused lighting, and you can change the intensity with the
dimmer.
2 LED Square Light Kit – $149
2 LED Round Light Kit – $136
1 LED Light – $65
MICROPHONES
Any microphone you purchase will be better than the microphone in your laptop
or web camera. From my experience, the best value is found with microphones in
the $100 – $150 range.
All the USB microphones I’ve listed below come with built-in mic stands.
They are all plug-and-play.
Find one at your price point and looks good on your desk. They all sound
good.
Blue Yeti – $129
Blue Yeti Nano – $99
Rode NT-USB-Mini – $99
AKG Lyra – $116
WEB CAMERAS
In most cases, the web cameras listed below are going to be better than
what came with your laptop.
